  • No Scanning or Storage of Files: We do not scan, analyze, or store any files or information sent through our service. All transfers are encrypted, and we do not have access to the contents.
  • No Personal Account Information: We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use our service.
  • No Tracking: We do not track your usage behavior or monitor the files you share.

2. File Transfers and Security

  • End-to-End Encryption: All files sent through LockFil are encrypted before leaving your device and remain encrypted during transfer. Only the recipient with the correct decryption key can access the files.
  • Temporary File Links: Sharing links generated for file transfers expire after several days for added security. After expiration, the files are no longer accessible, and no backup copies are retained by LockFil.
  • Decentralized Storage: Files are stored in a distributed file system in a fragmented manner, providing enhanced security and privacy. LockFil has no access to or control over stored files once they are uploaded to the decentralized network.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Cookies and Analytics: LockFil uses cookies and third-party analytics tools to track or analyze user behavior on our platform, with the goal of improving our service.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Decentralized File System (IPFS): LockFil uses the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) for decentralized storage of files. Files uploaded to IPFS are fragmented and stored across a distributed network. LockFil does not control this network and is not responsible for any third-party actions within the IPFS framework.

5. User Rights and Control

  • At LockFil, we respect and protect your privacy. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users in the European Union have the following rights regarding their personal data:
    Right of Access
    You have the right to request access to the personal data we have collected about you. This includes information about what data is being processed, for what purposes, and with whom we share this data.

  • File Sharing and Removal: Files shared via LockFil are available for several days. After this period, the files are automatically removed, and no recovery options are available.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your files and information seriously. All file transfers are protected using the latest encryption technologies. We regularly update our security measures to prevent unauthorized access to your data. However, since LockFil does not store or retain files, any breach of security would involve only the loss of access to the files after the transfer expires.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The updated policy will be posted on our website, and the effective date will be updated accordingly.
